The water is safe for swimming as long as you avoid the area around the lake at the lowest part of the town.

Alanya lake itself, though not particularly beautiful, does have a few nice features. The most important is the "molehill". The entire area surrounding the lake is landscaped with grass, and it is surrounded by a wall, which has led to an increase in tourist visits
